Dear Parents and Community Members,

Welcome to the School of Excellence in Education.  Parents, you and your child have chosen one of the best charter school districts in San Antonio, Texas.  We pride ourselves in making sure all students receive the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills that will ensure them of future success academically.  Therefore, let me take this opportunity to say thank you for sending your child to the School of Excellence in Education.

As a result, your child will receive an exemplary education administered by a group of teachers that are innovative, caring, and who believes  “Above All Children First.”  The staff at the School of Excellence in Education views themselves as a bridge that invites students to cross and establish their own bridges to educational success.  The theme this year is “I Believe”…

‘I Believe in You,
You Believe in Me,
Together, We Believe in Each Other’

We also believe it takes an entire village to educate a child.  Therefore, we welcome volunteers, mentors, and parents at all of our campuses.  Furthermore, we invite parents to join our campus Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

Superintendent’s personal goals for this year are:

  1. Increase Enrollment
  2. Increase and Improve Student Achievement
  3. Increase Parent Involvement
  4. Renovate and Improve Facilities

In closing, let me reiterate the fact that your child’s educational success here at the School of Excellence in Education is of upmost importance.  Therefore, where two or more are gathered on behalf of your child guarantees there will be success educationally for ALL stakeholders.  Thank You!

Superintendent,

Pennies for Pasta

On January 13, 2012, Burch Intermediate students received their individual boxes for our annual Pennies for Pasta kick off. The winning class will receive a pasta lunch provided by Olive Garden. Our students always look forward to this event and to see how much money they can raise for those in need. Olive Garden’s Pasta for Pennies is a national fundraising program in partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and more than three million student participants. Since 1994, the program has raised more than $53 million to support the fight against blood-related cancers, help fund important life-saving initiatives and provide critical services to patients and their families. We are honored to do our part and give back to the community.
Thank you Dr. James Burch

We welcomed Dr. James Burch, our namesake, this past week at our school. He came by to say hello, check on his children, and made a generous donation to the campus. Our students adore him. The money will be used for upcoming events. It is always our pleasure to have Dr. Burch stop in for a surprise visit.
