Academics

The goal of the Department of Academics is to significantly increase the number of students performing at or above state standard.  In 2010, SEE witnessed significant increases in every content area as well as significant increases in the number of students achieving Commended Performance on the STAAR. As our students prepare for their future careers, high levels of achievement on STAAR, such as Commended performance, means that our students are projected to do very well on the new State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test.  Through on-going mentoring and tutoring programs, quality professional development opportunities, parent and family involvement/activities, rigorous curriculum, ongoing assessment practices, challenging classroom experiences, extra-curricular activities, UIL academics and clubs, our students are empowered to exceed their own expectations.

SEE is on its way to implementing new and innovative programs and activities, through collaborative efforts, that will both increase student enrollment and success in rigorous and challenging curricula and coursework.  Pre-AP/AP Courses are offered at both the JH and HS levels.  Robotics programs at both Intermediate and HS levels have brought important resources to our students.  TSTEM academy provides Math and Science focus to prepare students for successful careers in Math, Science, and Engineering.  Our ultimate goal is to insure our students’ success through life-long learning opportunities including enrollment in post-secondary education.  Lastly, as the largest charter school district in San Antonio with over 1600 students, (average of almost 97% daily attendance) we are continuously being student focused and data driven to provide the best opportunity for all students.

Thank you, friends and colleagues, for your commitment and support --and tireless efforts on behalf of--SEE!
