We aim high!
The goal of the Department of Academics is to significantly increase the number of students performing at or above the state standards. In 2010 as the School of Excellence, we witnessed significant increases in every content area, specifically in the number of students achieving Commended Performance on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test. As students prepare for their future careers and score high levels of achievement on STAAR, we anticipate that students will continue to do very well on the new STAAR test. Through on-going mentoring and tutoring programs, quality professional development opportunities, parent and family involvement/activities, rigorous curriculum, ongoing assessment practices, challenging classroom experiences, extra-curricular activities, UIL academics, and clubs, our students are empowered to exceed their own expectations.
