Hello Kelley Families,

Welcome to Dr. Harmon W. Kelley Elementary School! My name is Tiffany Peterson and I am the proud principal of Kelley Elementary. Becoming a member of the Kelley wolf pack two years ago was very exciting for me, as the school is near the community where I grew up as a child. It is obviously a campus that has been loved by its parents, students and teachers for many years and we intend to carry on that tradition. I am passionate about the job I do! I am blessed to have a career that I truly love and enjoy!

My journey in this rewarding profession began when I graduated college from the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with certification in Early Childhood Education. My teaching career began as a second and fourth grade teacher in Northeast Independent School District. In May of 2007, I graduated from Trinity University with a Master of Education in School Administration. I have spent the last twelve years as a school administrator here in San Antonio, Texas. I am thrilled to be a part of such an outstanding campus, community, and district.
As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to ensure that our children reach their potential.

The first day of school is August 17th, 2020. All students will begin the first three weeks virtually. Students will be given information about "where and how they login" from their classroom teachers the week before school starts. While we anticipate growing pains along the way, the Kelley spirit will allow us to navigate successfully through anything.
As we begin virtually, there will be lots of questions. We also know that our school plans could totally change based on guidance from elected officials of our district. The Kelley staff will continue to provide a positive and successful instructional experience along the way.

Clear communication between families and teachers will help both understand the position of the other and enhance the positive experience that can be gained. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to me directly or any member of my staff. We will be open to your concerns and suggestions to make our students succeed academically, socially and, emotionally as a Kelley Elementary student. I want to encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher, be our guest at student activities that take place throughout the year and join our Family Engagement Team.
Thank you again for sharing your most prized possession with us - your child. Together we plan to continue the partnership with our families to meet the needs of your child.

Blessings,
Tiffany Peterson
