About Our School

We are one of San Antonio’s oldest charter schools, teaching children to become life-long learners since 1998. The School of Excellence in Education is a publicly funded charter school district dedicated to bridging the critical gaps in education by creating a smooth transition for students as they navigate through their academic career. The Texas Education Agency designated Milton B. Lee Academy of Science and Engineering as a STEM Academy. Courses offered include Engineering (AutoCAD), Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, Business, and Health Science Technology.

We are proud of our partnership with St. Philip’s College and their Dual Credit Program. Milton B. Lee Academy scholars can earn college credits as a high school student with no cost to the family beginning their freshmen year. We provide an early journey that enables students to take college courses and experience the college atmosphere before graduating high school. In the Fall 2019 semester, we will launched our Certified Nurse Aide program. Upon completion of the program, students will achieve a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to patients. They will also successfully complete clinical and work-based skilled experience in direct patient care at a clinical site. Additionally, all graduates are eligible for a scholarship from the School of Excellence Educational Foundation.

Our high school is also known for its very successful history in UIL and intramural sports. We are especially proud to be the District 29AA Basketball Champions in 2015, 2017, and 2018. Our parents, teachers, and support staff are all part of a unified family working hard to ensure the safety and well-being of all children while providing them with a challenging and rewarding educational experience.

To provide an educational foundation that meets the needs of every student while empowering them to excel in the 21st century workforce.

Our students are prepared, ready and thriving.
