Hello Kelley Families,

I hope this letter finds you enjoying the summer break with your families. My name is Tiffany Oliphint and I am the new Kelley Elementary School Principal.  Becoming a member of the Kelley wolf pack is very exciting for me, as the school is near the community where I grew up as a child.  It is obviously a campus that has been loved by its parents, students and teachers for many years and we intend to carry on that tradition. We wish Mrs. Cristen Martens the very best as she starts a new chapter in her life.

My journey in this rewarding profession began when I graduated college from the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with certification in Early Childhood Education.  My teaching career began as a second and fourth grade teacher in Northeast Independent School District. In May of 2007, I graduated from Trinity University with a Master of Education in School Administration.  I have spent the last ten years as a school administrator here in San Antonio, Texas.  I am thrilled to be a part of such an outstanding campus, community and district.

I am really looking forward to getting to know your child better.  The Kelley teachers have told me wonderful things about both the students and you.  Each staff member and I will soon be engaged in team planning meetings to ensure another successful school year.  Together we plan to continue the partnership with our families in order to meet the needs of your child. I am passionate about the job I do!  I am blessed to have a career that I truly love and enjoy!

Over the summer we will continue to work diligently to prepare the school for your child’s arrival in August. I look forward to a successful year, as we strive for excellence in the classroom.  The school office will reopen on August 1, 2018. We hope that you will join us for our Meet the Teacher event on Thursday, August 16th from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM.  Feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance during your child’s livelihood here at Kelley. I will be open to your concerns and suggestions in an effort to make our students succeed both academically and behaviorally as a Kelley Elementary student.  I want to encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher and be our guest at the many student activities that will take place throughout the year. I also encourage you to get involved as a member of our school Parent Teacher Association.

Thank you again for sharing your most prized possession with us - your child.  I hope that the rest of your summer break is safe and relaxing! I am delighted to continue my passion for educating young children as Principal at Kelley Elementary School.

Kelley Elementary

On Thursday, 16 August 2018, the Alpha Phi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated surprised the faculty and staff at Dr. Harmon W. Kelly Elementary School.

The chapter purchased school supplies to ensure the students and teachers have a great start to the school year. In addition to these donations, they garnered donations from Walmart and Staples. Walmart donated a $50 gift card to Kelley Elementary School to purchase additional needs. Staples donated 130 folders, 120 packs of pencils, 100 crayons, and 100 spiral notebooks.

It was such a joy to see the smiles from the faculty and staff at the Dr. Harmon W. Kelley Elementary School.

Thank you for the service to our school district and the San Antonio community through the national program, Operation Big Book Bag.
