Milton B. Lee Academy of Science & Engineering
Lee High School
The Engineering Track at Milton B. Lee Academy offers Principals of Applied Engineering, Electronics and Computer Programming.
Principles of Applied Engineering provides an overview of the various fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and their interrelationships. Students will use a variety of computer hardware and software applications to complete assignments and projects. Upon completing this course, students will have an understanding of the various fields and will be able to make informed decisions regarding a coherent sequence of subsequent courses. Further, students will have worked on a design team to develop a product or system. Students will use multiple software applications to prepare and present course assignments.
The Electronics class teaches students how to diagnose, repair, design and create electronics components. Through classroom lectures and hands-on experience, students are exposed to various pathways in trade or degreed pathways. This can ultimately prepare students for work as an electrician, an electronics professional, working with lasers, fiber optics, robotics, and computer technology.
The Computer Programming class involves freehand sketching and computer-aided drafting/design with the possibility of a CAD certification and exposure to various computer programming languages. Students will be taught basic CAD commands, tools, multi-view drawing and dimensioning techniques. Students will have been exposed to various programming languages and eventually focus on the basic understanding of one of these languages.
