The School of Excellence in Education is a publicly funded Charter School District where your child can attend school for free. The School of Excellence provides you and your child an alternative to a traditional public school with smaller classrooms, more individualized instruction and a structured environment.
The School of Excellence in Education is free. We have seven schools throughout San Antonio serving children from Pre-K4 through 12th grade. We offer a math, science and technology focused curriculum, including Pre-AP and AP courses. The School of Excellence has bus service, fine arts programs, physical education courses and UIL sanctioned athletic and academic programs.
A charter school is a type of public school. Charter schools provide education through a "charter," which is a type of contract granted by a chartering entity such as the State Board of Education (SBOE) or the board of trustees of an independent school district. The School of Excellence is an open-enrollment charter school that is open to all students.
