Jody Hance, Teacher at Walker Elementary

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Ms. Jody Hance, and I am thrilled to be your 3rd/4th grader's science and social studies teacher this year at Walker Elementary. I am also going to be co-teaching language arts and math for both grade levels alongside Mr. Sattiewhite (math) and Ms. Gaines (ELAR). Third grade is an exciting and challenging year, as it is the first time your students will be taking the STAAR test. This will be the second year of STAAR testing for 4th grade so it will be challenging for them as well. With that said, it is going to be a real team effort to encourage and support our learning environment so that each student is successful in every way; while learning in the classroom, and when doing homework at home. I strongly believe in our students and I am sure we will all have a fantastic year.

I am a B.A. graduate of UTSA, and currently a distance graduate student at OU in Oklahoma studying museum education. I have two amazing daughters, Haley and Peyton. One is in high school studying business communications and forensic science, while the other is in college studying zoology and is a professional photographer. I also love animals. I have 3 Pomeranians, a cat, and even a hedgehog. Some of my passions include: visiting museums, thrifting, making collage art, painting, reading, spending time with the love of my life, Chris, my daughters, my dogs, and my friends. Some of my yummy favorites are: Dunkin Donuts hazelnut iced coffee, Coke Zero, Reese's Pieces chocolate, and Payday bars.
